This strip was a quickie. I know. Sorry. But I figured I should try and get something up when I said I would (for once).

Phew. Busy couple of weeks. I was at a four day "Advanced Perl Programming" course in Toronto most of last week. It was a gruelly four days but not because of the difficulty of the material. I'm the first to admit that I'm not an expert programmer. I only know what I need to do my job. I'm constanly learning stuff so I always pick up useful nuggets of information on how to do my job better... but this course was a bit of a joke. It covered to many topics and didn't go in depth at all. There were some new things for me but I didn't get nearly as much out of it as I'd hoped. To complicate matters, it was a long four days of insane heat and I was preparing for a move. Which meant I hadn't hooked up my air conditioner.

I'm connected to the net again... sorta. Moved back into my folks place in Snowball as I couldn't find an apartment in time. So the hunt continues. They were really great about putting me up for a month or two though. I'm gonna hafta get used to dial-up internet again though... which is a truly horrid thing after you've enjoyed the wonders of high speed.

So I'm living in the rather gradiosely named "east wing" of my parents place. This used to be where my grandparents lived. But hey, it's rent free, air conditioned and I have access to the laundry room... and the pool so it ain't all bad. I'm living out of boxes though. What's the point in unpacking if you just have to do it all over again? My E-Mail should be back up. I've set up my webmaster account as a proper E-Mail and not just a forwarding service as it was. If any of you write to my old "wotnow(at)sympatico.ca" address that I responded to many messages with, it's going to a black hole in some corner of the internet. I should have my stuff together soon so we can get back to regular updates.
