Swordwaltzer

Hey Burnout, do you know whether Swordwaltzer is still hosted anywhere? I went to show it to somebody just now and discovered it is no longer to be found on Xero's main site. Which is a shame because it was awesome. Can ya hook a brother up?

...*sigh*

Quoted directly from http://www.xerjester.com/:

Wow. So yeah... . 1-18-TwentyTen

Remember how I said the page would be up barring any unforseen consequences/acts of real life? Well, if you have not kept up with the FB page or Twitter, then let me fill you in on a pleasant change. For once, the comic's delayed not due to something bad happening, but something that is categorically awesome.

My wife finally got a new job, and we have been dilligently spending the past week and a half packing for our move from Texas to Colorado. While I understand this will tick some readers off who were looking forward to more 9SS, you'll have to remember that this has been a dream of ours for sometime. Now? Now it's finally coming true.

What's more? Starting in March you will not only get 9SS, but another comic: Swordwaltzer. some of you remember my fantasy epic, some don't. For newcomers, i think you're in for a treat. Apologies for the barrage of delays, but this go around I could not be happier with the reason for it.

Until next time, horns up.

You know Ghavrel, I really hope that your patronizing demeanour doesn't hurt your social life too badly.

People who deserve it as thoroughly and consistently as you are surprisingly rare.

I assume you were either talking to witsd or Cracky, since my particular brand of aggressiveness is really anything but passive. :p

fjafjan is passive-aggressive!
fjafjan hurt himself in his passive-aggressiveness!

Patronising.

I love that "Patronising" comes up as misspelled by my spellchecker. UK vs. US again. Though I would have figured that Canada would have spelled it with an "S" also.

Heh. Canada can hardly ever decide which way to go on these things. It's a miracle that they manage to write 'colour' consistently...

Also: pronouncing buoy as boo-ee (as opposed to 'boy') – is that US only, or US and Canada?

That to my knowledge is US only. And it's ridiculous. If they're going to pronounce it that way they might as well just call it a ziggy.

Must be a East US thing. I've only heard it as "Boy" here in the Western US, though I've heard TV shows set in places like NY and Philly where they'd say boo-ee. Is Ecsteria still around? Maybe she'd pronounce it differently than I would...

Star Trek and I think it was X-Files are both 'boo-ee's. I don't think I've heard it used at all in any other shows, so I have no way of knowing!

Everywhere I've gone its pronounce boo-ee. Boy would be confused with boy. A swimming instructor would ask you to swim to the buoy and you'd ask which boy, there are a half dozen swimming around at this public beach.

As for patronizing, it looks a whole lot like patriot. We pronounce that pay-triot, not pat-riot. That are hundreds of movies to reinforce that pronunciation as well before even bringing up TV shows.

It also looks a lot like 'pat'. As in "Don't step in that cowpayt!"

Erm... Are you arguing that the fact that it is pronounced in the US manner in US TV shows dictates that the US pronunciation is correct?

And in this thread, people attempt prescriptivism of pronunciation, in spite of the fact that they're actually discussing different dialects of a language that spans continents!

Also, you're all wrong because the United States is the best country ever. And Europe is the worst.

There are dialects, and then there's plain talking weird.
